Kengo Kuma architectural office transformed a sanatorium on Dongye lake, Hokkaido, into a boutique hotel, and took "wood" and "cloth" as the main elements of hotel architecture and interior design. Let's go to experience the charm of design together with the editor of Brandt boutique theme hotel design company!
Both the exterior and interior of the hotel are made of locally produced cedar logs, bringing a comfortable space atmosphere. The hotel also has a cave like space covered with pleated fabric, from which you can directly see the magnificent scenery of the lake.
Each guest room has a "Hinoki" (cypress) bathtub on the balcony. Guests can enjoy the beautiful lake landscape and the fragrance from the woods while bathing.
